Welcoming another Demag to the City Lifting fleet!

We are very pleased to have recently taken delivery of our new 220 tonne Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain crane which has been added to our heavy mobile crane fleet.

With a main boom length of 78 m, the new Demag AC 220-5 has the longest main boom reach of any 5-axle crane on the market, and can even be extended to a full 99m with boom extensions. The crane also features the Terex IC1-Plus control system which calculates lifting capacities for every position of the boom subject to slewing angle of the superstructure. This enables usage of the maximum lifting capacity especially when lifting over the outriggers, providing lifting duties with the 18.7 tonne counterweight.

Our new all terrain crane fits in the 220 tonnes capacity class, and benefits from a compact carrier frame of just 13.3 m long and 3m wide for navigating in confined areas.

Designed for companies like ours

Owner Trevor Jepson said: “As our company name implies, the bulk of our work happens in London’s challenging city environment. To be profitable and meet our customers’ expectations, we need to use cranes that can travel London’s busy streets and be easily maneuvered in confined urban working areas. That is exactly what we are getting with the new Demag AC 220-5 All Terrain crane – it was designed for companies like ours.”

Director Claire Jepson added: “The IC-1 Plus control system’s instantaneous capacity calculations allow us to use less counterweight while working in higher capacity ranges and means we can handle a larger scope of lifts with one crane model.”
