City Lifting at Bromley by Bow Underground Station

City Lifting install 10 tonne disabled access lift into Bromley by Bow Underground Station in London!

Over the Easter weekend, the City Lifting team worked brilliantly to load, transport and install a complete new lift shaft structure into Bromley by Bow underground station in order to allow step free, disabled access to the central line at the station. We used our fantastic 220 tonne main lift crane and 45 tonne assist crane to complete the job.

At City Lifting we don’t mess around so we got straight to work on Good Friday as we had to load the new lift structure into a compound and then transport it right across London. Once arrived, we then had to lift the crane up in a car park adjacent to the station, ready for the big lift.

The railway possession was granted at 2 in the morning when we set to work. We then carefully and efficiently transported the 10 tonne lift structure over the railway and onto the central platform to be installed. This allowed for disabled, step free access on the central line in Bromley by Bow station.

Good job to the City Lifting team!
